The paper describes the criteria for the inclusion of spoken and non-standard vocabulary in the Digital Dictionary Database of Slovene, as well as the way such vocabulary is treated in terms of data organization and lexicographic description in the database. The paper explains the concept of spoken vocabulary in relation to (non-)standardness as presented within Slovene sociolinguistic theory and implemented in the Dictionary of the Slovenian Literary Language and its successors. In the Digital Dictionary Database of Slovene, we understand formbased non-standardness as a deviation from the expected inflectional or accentuated form or phonetic transcription, e.g. in the case of incorrect spelling or capitalization, while register-based non-standardness (or non-adherence to literary language) is understood as a certain type of markedness in communication or register, which is typically manifested in informal speech situations. To define this type of vocabulary, we use a system of communicational, evaluational, stylistic and pragmatic markers in the dictionary database, as well as individual elements of semantic description, such as semantic indicators, explanations and semantic types. The organization of data in the Digital Dictionary Database of Slovene enables the establishment of directed links between nonstandard and standard forms of a lexical unit and the inclusion of spoken forms in such a way that the orthographical representation of the spoken form is linked both to the neutral form and to pronunciation variants.
