The bachelor's thesis presents a comparison between laser scanning using SLAM technology and combined GNSS and conventional tachymetric survey in the case of the cadastral registration of Grad Castle at Goričko. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the applicability and accuracy of the SLAM method in the acquisition of spatial data for building registration in accordance with the provisions of the Real Estate Cadastre Act.
The thesis presents the workflow of both survey methods. In the combined method, a network of orientation points was established using GNSS measurements, followed by a conventional tachymetric survey of the external characteristic points of the building. The thesis further presents the acquisition of the building using the FARO Orbis handheld laser scanner, where individual scans were merged and georeferenced using orientation points and temporary targets.
The comparison of the results of both methods was carried out on the external parts of the building, mainly on building corners, roof break lines and characteristic heights. It was found that the horizontal deviations between the two methods ranged from 1 to 3 cm, while the vertical deviations ranged from 2 to 5cm, which is acceptable considering the complexity of the building and the purpose of cadastral registration. The results confirm that the SLAM method is a useful complement to classical geodetic methods in the registration of more demanding structures, especially when surveying complex and difficult to access buildings.
