In this thesis, we focused on designing a visual identity for a court interpreter, with the goal of creating a recognizable, professional, and visually cohesive system. We aimed to develop a brand identity that communicates not only expertise but also reliability, approachability, and a sense of trust – key values in both legal and linguistic contexts. We redesigned obsolete elements of her previous visual identity, as well as setting a new goal of designing her whole visual identity.
We designed the basic elements of the corporate identity, such as the logo, color palette, and typography, and applied them to concrete business materials.
Among the outputs, we created a double-sided business card of standard measurements, a letterhead for printed communication, an email signature for digital correspondence, and a system of four signage boards guiding users from the entrance of the building to the interpreter's office. In the design process, we followed the principles of minimalism, clear layout, and visual balance. A deep navy blue plays a central role in the visual language, conveying calmness, trust, and professionalism. The typographic system is based on a contrast between the sans-serif typeface »Gotham« (used in the logo) and the serif typeface »Calisto MT« (used in texts).
With this thesis, we aimed to show that even independent professionals like court interpreters can strengthen their presence, improve recognition, and establish more confident communication through a well-designed visual identity.
