The educational plan is a mandatory school document, in which educational activities and forms of cooperation with parents must be documented. Its goal is to achieve the holistic development of children and to raise them according to the selected values, consistent with the educational concept. As each child is an individual with diverse upbringing, different internal dispositions, the result of education cannot be the same. For children who did not receive adequate moral education and care, educational institutions were established in Slovenia. These institutions differ in the age of children, their gender, the way they are placed and by organization of education and life. Children with special needs and emotional-behavioral disorders are usually placed in educational institutions, the consequences of which can be visible in academic achievement and unacceptable behaviour.
The fundamental purpose of thesis was to analyze the educational plan of VIZ Smlednik by conducting interviews with employees of the institution. I focused on the content sets included in the educational plan, its special features, level of its implementation and the way employees perceive it. Through research, I found out that the curriculum follows the Design Guidelines. Employees recognize the value of the educational plan, however they emphasise it is a rather general document, as they give more significance to individual plans and school rules, which precisely defines specific guidelines.
