In the final thesis, we consider a thin, flat cantilever beam that is subjected to its own weight
and aerodynamic forces in the air flow. Under the influence of gravity and aerodynamic
forces, the beam bends significantly. With the derived equations for large deformations of
such beams and the known drag force model, theoretical results are obtained numerically.
An experiment is carried out in the wind tunnel and the results are compared with the
theoretical ones. It is shown that the drag force model is adequate and the influence of
different beam parameters on deflection is explained.
