On the popular online video-sharing website YouTube video titles are - along with thumbnails - the first thing a potential viewer sees, and on their assessment of both they decide whether or not they will check out a certain video. Content creators want titles to be as appealing as possible, and that inevitably influences their structure. This article offers an analysis of 1146 YouTube video titles, gathered from thirteen Slovene YouTube channels with the most subscribers. The analysed titles often had certain words capitalized for emphasis and had final punctuation marks as well as emoticons. They are predominately written in Slovene, or partly in Slovene and partly in English. Finally, titles exhibit a heavy influence of English, which is seen in the usage of vocabulary and syntax, as well as incorrect translations of certain English terms.
