The main aim of the presented thesis is to find the optimal solution of connecting the local road 208221 -Črni Potok-Simončič-Mala Goričica to the main road R2-416, Šmartno – Radohova vas, on section 1347 in 1010 meter.
The narrowness on LC 208221, just in front of the existing intersection, reduces the road capacity. Besides that, this section presents more conflict points between motorized vehicles and pedestrians. The goal of this work is to avoid this road section, or at least to find the right solution in order to improve pedestrian safety.
The angle of connecting the side road to the main road R2-416 does not follow the criteria of a safe intersection. Moreover, it does not offer the required sight distance for a safe drive and neither sufficient road capacity. The new junction will increase safety and be usable for all kind of farming machines.
In this thesis three different options were analyzed.
In all presented variants is important to consider also the economical point of view. We have to be aware that the local road is light loaded. The best solution for this intersection would be cost efficient and would considerably increase safety and the drive quality of local people.
