This thesis deals with data that serve as the professional basis for the development of public utilities in the Municipality of Žalec. The discussed area and the valid municipal spatial act were presented, the greatest attention being paid to the construction and development of public utility infrastructure. The data analysis from the common cadastre of public utility infrastructure is presented in the form of tables and graphs. The supply of drinking water, water waste, water waste treatment, waste management and remote gas and heat supply were analysed in detail. One of the major investments made in recent years was presented, namely the construction of secondary sewerage and the renovation of the water supply system Šempeter III. and IV. phase and Drešinja vas II. phase as well as planned investments in the field of public utility infrastructure. The mentioned investments are put in the development plan for the Municipality of Žalec, which is an integral part of the municipal budget 2018. At the end we analysed the decree on the program of equipping building land with public utility infrastructure and presented the calculation of the land development free in three different areas and for selected types of facilities. It was found that all the analysed public infrastructure in the Municipality of Žalec is only in urban areas. It is expected that the remaining settlements in the Municipality will eventually be included in this kind of supply, which is a major financial under taking.
