The future of social regulation in democratic countries is increasingly attached to information technology. One example is public sector cooperation with citizens through open data. For quality, useful processing and display of open data in various forms, it is important to capture quality data from data sources. Therefore it is not only important to make the data accessible to the public and display them on different platforms, but also to make the data useful and understandable to users in order to get new useful ideas or solutions.
In this work, we focus on the open police data. For each event that is processed, the police keep records, collect and use different data. If we focus on the traffic accident data in the form of open data, the police process and forward them to the public and other authorities, as well as to the Slovenian Traffic Safety Agency. The Agency uses a specially developed application that covers geographical data of Slovenia and displays traffic accident open police data on this map. There are deviations in the observed data on the map, which is a key problem for the end users.
The purpose of this work is to review deviations for displaying traffic accidents in the Republic of Slovenia in the application itself and to determine wheter the deviations are a result of incorrect data implementation, incorrect data processing or incomplete open police data. Public sector open data often contains a geographical location and it is important to determine whether this information interferes with the privacy of personal information.
