The thesis deals with the use of virtual reality in civil engineering. The thesis first analyzes options in technology that provide real-time visualization, which is needed to achieve virtual or augmented reality. For practical use, the software environment, Unreal Engine, is used, which supports virtual reality and programming of the environment. It also allows you to export a standalone application for a specific building, or a virtual environment, which enables the user to interact with it. For the purpose of the thesis, various ways of using the building information model, were explored in Unreal Engine and presented. On this basis, an application has been developed, in which some solutions are presented, which represent the prototype of the environment use on construction projects. Through the designed application, the user can enter the interactive computer environment and interactively manage certain functions and structurally inspect the building model. The solution is important for both users and engineering service providers.
