We can find many different dry dog foods on the Slovenian market, which vary by the components they consist of. This reflects quality, and, consequently, also a difference in prices. The purpose of the thesis was to review some declarations of cheaper and some more expensive dry dog foods and to find out if the price is exclusively related only to quality or whether other factors contribute to this. We compared dry dog foods by the price, analytical composition, NRC norms and especially components. All dry dog foods have an analytical composition in accordance with NRC norms, which does not mean that they are all equally good. The most important is the source of nutrients. When reviewing declarations of low-grade dog foods, we found out that compositions are very similar. The declarations are very generalized and imprecise, therefore we do not know what exactly compound foods contain. The price range from 0.75 € per kg to 3.15 € per kg. For higher-grade compound foods, these are more accurate, the components are also of better quality. The price range from 3.25 € per kg to 9.99 € per kg. Due to a large number of different components in higher quality dry dog foods, it is more difficult to establish price eligibility. Nevertheless, the increase in price is usually proportional to the increase of the number of different components, which also contribute to higher price.
