In the thesis titled Designing collection Monsters, I presented the whole designing process, starting with inspiration and describing it through to the nal product.
The aim of the thesis was to design contemporary women’s collection which connects main African and Canadian features.
In the theoretical part, I have researched main cultural characteristics of African and Canadian tribes, explored and presented their clothes, and pointed out their similari- ties and differences. I have also presented different hand techniques, colour and fabric palettes and illustrated some digital patterns.
There is an aspect of sustainability incorporated in the collection, as a form of recycling.
In the experimental part, I described the whole process of designing the collection Monsters, which is based on presented tribes and different hand techniques. Through this process, I tried to show my visual interpretation of those cultures.
The main goal of the thesis was to create women’s collection where experimental concept intertwines with pret-a-porter.
