Every year the number of elder people is rapidly increasing which is due to the progress of health and technology, also the standard of living is improving every year. As a result, the pace of life has become faster and that's the reason why many forget to take care for their body, which includes proper nutrients intake and daily physical activity. Consequently, generations are becoming less physically active, which brings more health problems in age. Many forget about importance of strengthening exercises for everyday activities. If we don't do them, our muscles are becoming weaker and they are slowly replaced by fat tissue. In this work there were presented processes of aging and what aging brings along if we do not do everyday workout, also positive effects of physical activity were presented.
The purpose of this work was to present Zavod za izobraževanje in kulturo Črnomelj, which every year from autumn to spring organizes one-hour training for older people called »Training for health. « In this work there were also presented exercises which are appropriate and adjusted to elder population. Also many equipment was included which are affordable to anyone, they also don't take up a lot of space so everyone can keep them in their household. So the excuses for physical inactivity (in other words »lack of time«) occurs to seek only with yourself.
