In this master's thesis a development of communication module LTE for the new smart electricity meter is described. In the first chapter, the analysis of already existing telecommunication technologies and their use in smart electricity meter is presented. Next are descriptions of two very important blocks of communication module: antennas and power supply. The main focus is on the development of communication module LTE, which was realized in five stages. Firstly, we gathered information about the existing communication modules and studied given requirements. Secondly, relevant components and an antenna were selected to meet the given conditions. Then, we designed an electric schematic of the communication module using those components. Based on that design, printed circuit board was drawn by taking into account the requirements for electromagnetic compatibility. In the last step, the obtained solution was tested in development environment and the results were commented.
