The aim of the thesis was to acquaint in detail with the psychological functioning of people with Prader Wilijevim syndrome. Since the syndrome has quite a few features in common with Down syndrome, the comparison between the two was a logical step forward.
Analysis and synthesis, respectively comparative method of processed materials showed interesting results. Despite the fact that the syndromes are geneticly completly different, they do have some common characteristics on biological and as well in the psychological area. Range of persons with Prader Willi syndrome have a lot ofvariability in each individual persons ability, therefore, approaches and methods of work with these persons cannot be unified. Just as it almost always applies to special education work in the field of working with people with Prader-Willi syndrome work requires individual goals, approaches, methods, devices, etc.
