This thesis describes a three-axis CNC milling machine and its components. Firstly the paper presents the inventions that were necessary for constructing the first computer-controlled machine, describes the basics of CNC machines and makes a comparison of machine frames.
The presupposition of the thesis is that Laboratory for electrical machines could produce and process various parts of electrical machines, such as coil formers for windings, housings for electric appliances, and other components that are not available in mass production. On the basis of specified functional and technical requirements, which a triaxial drive mechanism must meet, we have assembled a CNC milling machine. All individual elements of a three axis milling machine and controller of the whole machine are presented in the thesis. The triaxial driving mechanism is controlled by computer program Mach 3.
