The thesis discusses the science and technology field, which encompasses everything from clay to toys. The theoretical part researches the developmental characteristics of children between the ages of four and six, which were the subjects included in the activities conducted in the research part of the thesis. The thesis focuses on clay together with its properties and method of use; whereas, the theoretical part of the thesis sheds some light on children’s play and toys. The section on science and technology describes the importance of science for children, as well as emphasizes the importance of safety perspective during scientific activities. The objectives for science and technology during the pre-school period are also discussed. As all other fields, the fields of science are interconnected; therefore, the correlation between the practical work and science with other fields is shown. The practical part represents activities, which include active participation by children. The thesis also includes hypotheses, research questions, objectives, the research method, and description of the group. These are followed by descriptions of activities with reflection and activities, which were not carried in the pre-school. All activities were documented with picture material, which proves that the research purpose was achieved – children use natural materials to make their own toys, which they enjoy when playing and use to enrich their daily lives.
