The thesis examines the satisfaction of residents of the Municipality of Ig with environmental protection factors and energy efficiency. The purpose of the research was to determine how residents rate water quality, waste management, air quality, environmental noise pollution, sustainable mobility, forest conservation, and energy efficiency measures. In addition, the study analysed whether there are relationships between satisfaction with environmental protection, energy efficiency, and overall life satisfaction, as well as opportunities for improvement at the local level. In the theoretical part, the compilation method was used to collect, summarise, and systematically integrate findings from Slovenian and international professional and scientific literature in the fields of environmental protection and energy efficiency. The empirical part is based on quantitative research conducted using a questionnaire among residents of the Municipality of Ig. The collected data were analysed statistically, and the t-test, Spearman’s correlation coefficient, and z-test were used to test the research hypotheses. The results show that, on average, residents are satisfied with most of the examined environmental protection factors and with energy efficiency measures. The highest levels of satisfaction were found for air quality, forest conservation, and waste management, while the lowest level was found for sustainable mobility. A positive relationship was also found between satisfaction with environmental protection and overall life satisfaction, as well as between satisfaction with energy efficiency measures and overall life satisfaction. The findings provide an important basis for planning and improving environmental and energy-related measures in the Municipality of Ig. They contribute to a better understanding of residents’ satisfaction with environmental protection factors and energy efficiency and can serve as a basis for decision-making at the local level.
