This diploma thesis examines the use of lyricization in Ciril Kosmač’s novel A Day in Spring and Marjan Tomšič’s novel Ognjeni žar, providing a comparative analysis of selected lyrical elements to explore potential connections between the two authors and their works. First, it contextualizes both writers and their novels within their broader literary opuses. Next, it defines lyricization and analyzes the chosen lyrical elements in both texts. Finally, it situates both works within the evolution of the Slovenian lyrical novel, highlighting the specific elements that best demonstrate how lyricization developed from Kosmač’s to Tomšič’s literary output.
