The thesis primarily aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how radar speed measurement devices function and how they are automated. Particular attention is given to explaining the operating principles of systems that individuals encounter in everyday life. In addition, the thesis addresses digitalisation which, although still a subject of debate in modern society, is an important process for improving compliance with traffic regulations. A key aspect of the issue analysed is how, as a society and as individuals, whether system operators or traffic participants, we accept new changes. The analysis includes the impact of weather conditions on the performance of measurement systems, as well as the extent to which automated systems comply with traffic regulations. Particular attention is devoted to one of the key potential challenges, namely the impact of automation on road safety and the number of traffic violations in the Republic of Slovenia. In this context, the introduction of advanced automated systems raises questions regarding responsibility, the reliability of technological performance, and the adequacy of existing legislation in adapting to new forms of mobility.
