In my diploma thesis, I will examine surveying work performed during the replacement of railway sleepers across all phases of the construction process. The thesis is based on a theoretical description of procedures and methods of geodetic measurements. It will present the construction of a railway line with an emphasis on the elements of the superstructure, such as rails, sleepers, and track geometry. Furthermore, it will provide a description of surveying tasks before, during, and after sleeper replacement, which includes conducting preliminary measurements, drafting the area plan, selecting appropriate methods and instruments for the execution of works, processing and analysing the measured data, and performing control of the track position and geometry.
