The diploma thesis deals with the organization of a construction site for a residential and commercial building in Škofja Loka, where I was directly involved in the construction works and assisted the site manager. Due to the limited space, significant elevation difference and proximity of two roads, the construction site is demanding in terms of both organization and execution. The thesis presents basic information about the building, geological and geotechnical conditions, as well as the external and traffic arrangement. Particular attention is given to the demolition of the existing building, preparation and organization of the construction site, construction of retaining walls, and protection of the excavation pit using steel sheet piles and geotechnical anchors. The phased excavation of the construction pit, preparation of the foundation ground, construction of blinding concrete and foundation of the building on reinforced concrete raft foundations are also presented. Special emphasis is placed on the actual organization of work, use of construction machinery, material transport, coordination of contractors and adaptation of the construction process to site conditions. A construction schedule in the form of a Gantt chart was also prepared. The thesis therefore demonstrates the connection between project documentation, construction site organization and the practical execution of individual construction phases.
