Generation Z, which is currently entering the labor market, and generation X, which has been in the market for several decades now, differ significantly in their values and habits. The main objective of this research was to identify and compare the differences in the expectations, values, and habits of both generations when searching for their first full-time employment, with an emphasis on the digital presence of companies and the implementation of artificial intelligence in the recruitment processes. The theoretical framework utilizes a literature review methodology, while the empirical part is based on quantitative research conducted via an online survey and a statistical comparison of the arithmetic means of the responses from both generations. The research results revealed a generational gap between the two groups, which manifests in technology adoption and in the core values that job seekers attribute to employers. While generation X emphasizes stability and security, generation Z prioritizes flexibility, whilst remaining pragmatic regarding salary and career advancement. When researching employers, a clear digital transformation is evident, characterized by a strong reliance on online sources, although word-of-mouth recommendations remain the primary source for both generations. Generation Z attributes greater importance to the digital sophistication of employers' websites than generation X. Regarding the use of artificial intelligence in selection procedures, generation Z demonstrates greater openness than generation X; however, trust decreases significantly in both groups when it comes to the final candidate selection. The findings of this study provide applicable baselines for enhancing talent attraction and retention processes within modern organizations.
