This thesis examines the construction of a diatonic accordion as a comprehensive process in which theoretical knowledge is tested and complemented with practical work. The aim of the thesis was to produce a functional instrument and to clearly present the key stages of the construction process, from material selection and structural design to assembly, tuning, and final testing. The theoretical part discusses the basic structural elements of the accordion, the materials used, and the technological procedures that are important for the quality of the final product. The practical part is based on the independent construction of a diatonic accordion, using traditional materials such as poplar plywood, spruce, maple, and oak wood, as well as modern technologies including laser cutting and CNC machining. Special attention was given to the construction of reeds, the mechanical system, ensuring airtightness, and tuning the reeds, which proved to be one of the most demanding stages of the process. The findings showed that modern technologies contribute significantly to manufacturing precision but cannot replace manual skills in key procedures. The completed accordion is functional, allows normal playing, and produces a stable sound, confirming the suitability of the selected materials, processes, and construction solutions.
