The objective of this bachelor's thesis is to present the development of the control logic and visualization of an automated wastewater pretreatment system in a wastewater treatment plant. Due to the increasing volume of wastewater, the municipality of Zaton decided to construct an automated wastewater treatment plant in cooperation with zhe company Kolektor Sisteh.
As part of the project, I developed a SCADA monitoring system designed in the Siemens WinCC environment, which enables operators to visualize the process, control plant operations, and monitor key parameters. I was also responsible for developing the control logic in the TIA Portal V20 environment, which ensures the automatic operation of individual components (motors, pumps, and valves).
The thesis is divided into three sections. The first section presents the technological operation of the automated wastewater treatment plant, as well as the hardware used and its connections. The second section describes the control logic and its operation. The final section presents the WinCC SCADA system and its implementation.
