The thesis determines the optimal laser engraving parameters for high-contrast engraving into 3D printed polymers. Since different materials, i.e., PLA, PETG, PCTG, ASA Plus, and ABS, respond differently to the same parameter, determining a universal setting to achieve the highest-contrast engraving is not possible. Samples, manufactured using the material extrusion (MEX) process, were engraved with a fibre laser at different speeds and powers. Engraving contrast was evaluated using image analysis, while the samples' surface roughness was measured. The results show that the optimal parameters depend on the material type and colour.
