In this thesis, we developed a VR simulation of laboratory procedures that enables students to interactively learn and practise key laboratory tasks in a controlled virtual environment. The central objective was to explore whether VR as an educational medium contributes to better understanding of laboratory procedures and greater student preparedness for work in a real laboratory. The effect was evaluated through an exploratory study with a group of students who tested the simulation, using questionnaires, system-recorded performance data, and observation during the session. The results indicate that the use of VR contributes to better understanding of laboratory procedures and greater overall student preparedness.
