The thesis addresses problems about storage and transportation of wine which is a part of supply chain for perishable goods. Wine, just like any other perishable good
needs to have special conditions for storing. If these conditions are not applied the costumer can get a wine that has gotten bad, and we don’t want that. This is why the
purpose off this thesis is to present all of the factors, risk points that can affect the wine all from the wine maker to the last buyer.
The second and third chapter of thesis presents characteristics of storing perishable goods, different technologies that are used for their storing, temperature regimes, transportation of perishable goods as well as standards and regulations that follow the process.
The fourth part of the thesis will give a closer look to supply chain of wine. It presents optimal conditions for wine storage where two most important things are temperature
and humidity besides optimally produced product. After that the chapter will discuss wine packaging, distribution of wine both local and global as well as different transport
units and needed documentation. Practical part of the theses also includes interviews with a wine maker and a wine
supplier/ trader, witch help for better understandings of the whole wine chain supply. In the end of the theses there will also be recommendations for improving wine storge
and transportation
