In the article, I will present movement as one of the areas in a child‘s development that significantly influences their overall growth. The preschool period is characterized by rapid and intensive physical development, which is crucial for a child‘s progression. will focus on hiking in the mountains for preschoolers. I will introduce the significance of movement in nature, which offers numerous positive effects on children‘s motor skills, their socio-emotional, and cognitive development. I will describe what adults need to consider when planning mountain hikes to ensure that the hike is as enjoyable and safe as possible, and that children perceive the activity as a positive experience. I will concentrate on the goals that form the basis for mountain hiking, aiming to enhance a child‘s motor skills and overall development. I will attempt to delineate the differences between mountain hiking carried out within the framework of a preschool or a family setting. I will illustrate instances of good practice that I have experimented with during mountain hikes, both with my own children and with those in preschool.
