The master’s thesis examines green mobility as a possible response to the excessive traffic burden on the roads surrounding Lake Bled. The starting point of the thesis is the spatially and traffic-sensitive area of Bled, where tourist pressure, a limited road network, natural conditions and the significance of the lakeshore create conflicts between motor traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, local residents and visitors. The purpose of the thesis is to explore how restricting motor traffic and improving conditions for walking, cycling, public transport and parking policy could transform the lakeside area into a higher-quality, safer and more accessible public space. The objectives of the thesis are to analyse existing traffic conditions, identify key spatial and functional conflicts, evaluate the possibilities of closing or traffic-calming selected sections along the lake, and develop a proposal for a traffic and urban design arrangement. The work applies methods of spatial analysis, traffic data analysis, review of strategic and spatial planning documents, comparative analysis of reference examples, and thedevelopment of schematic and spatial proposals. The results show that a gradual reduction in dependence on private cars, combined with the introduction of bypass traffic solutions, a park-and-ride system, more efficient public transport, and safe pedestrian and cycling connections, could significantly contribute to relieving the lakeshore area.
