Intergenerational cooperation represents an important factor in the successful functioning of modern organizations, as employees of different ages, experiences, and knowledge work together in the workplace. The aim of this bachelor’s thesis was to examine the importance of intergenerational cooperation in a selected public municipal company, Zelenice d. o. o., and to analyze its impact on organizational and perceived economic efficiency, with a particular emphasis on the role of digital tools and informal social interactions.
The research was based on a combination of theoretical and empirical approaches. The empirical part was conducted using a quantitative research method, employing a structured survey questionnaire. At the time of the study, the company employed 55 people, of whom 53 participated in the research, providing a comprehensive insight into perceptions of intergenerational cooperation within the organization.
The results show that employees generally evaluate intergenerational cooperation positively. It was found that a higher level of intergenerational cooperation has a positive impact on the perceived efficiency of the company’s operations. Digital tools represent important support in daily work and encourage intergenerational assistance, while informal forms of socializing contribute to better interpersonal relationships and a stronger sense of belonging.
