This thesis deals with the determination of the heat output of a radiator according to the EN 442 standard. The theoretical part presents the fundamental mechanisms of heat transfer, classification of heating devices and methods for determining the heat output of heating devices. In the experimental part, a test setup was designed, and measurements of water temperature and flow rate were performed to calculate the heat flux at different operational conditions. Based on the measured data, the characteristic equation of the radiator and its nominal heat output were determined. Due to non-standard conditions, a calculated correction of the results was also performed. The results show that the measured heat output is slightly lower than the reference value obtained in an accredited laboratory, mainly due to non-standard experimental conditions.
