This master’s thesis examines the legislative framework, institutional responsibilities, and practical aspects of recording public utility infrastructure in the Republic of Slovenia. Particular attention is devoted to the processes of data collection, processing, and maintenance, as well as to the transition towards the information system IS ZKGJI. The empirical part focuses on the case study of the Municipality of Maribor, through which the entire process of GJI recording is analyzed, emphasizing the advantages, deficiencies, and challenges of the current practice through the presentation of a practical example.
