The thesis Digital Collection Virtualni Organisms conveys the process of researching, experimenting, and designing a fashion collection within a fully digital, virtually created environment based on digital tools for modeling and textile simulation. The main objective of the thesis is to explore the possibilities of using CLO3D and Blender to develop a virtual collection which includes no physical prototyping. The project is based on marine organisms called zoanthids, whose morphology, color dynamics and life cycle shape the conceptual framework of the collection.
The theoretical part discusses the biology of zoanthids, the impact of the fashion industry on coral ecosystems and the concept of morphogenetic design. It further introduces the concepts of digitality and virtuality and examines both the historical and contemporary influence of digitalization on the fashion industry.
The experimental part presents the development of the collection, progressing from initial digital sketches and research to final three‑dimensional silhouettes. The process takes place without physical prototypes and is based on material simulation, the construction of silhouettes, and studio‑based rendering.
The result is a digital fashion collection which, through realistic simulation of fabrics, colors, textures, movement, and an ambient studio setting, demonstrates the capabilities of modern 3D design tools and confirms the potential of virtual design as a sustainable approach in contemporary fashion.
