This thesis discusses a system for temperature monitoring and remote control
of HVAC units at remote facilities of Slovenia control. The main objective is to
ensure timely detection of elevated temperatures and to enable centralized control
of HVAC units without the need for physical presence at each location.
As part of the project, various communication options between facilities were
analyzed, and an ethernet connection was selected due to the existing infrastructure.
The system is based on an STM32 microcontroller, a W5500 ethernet
controller, and the MQTT protocol for data exchange with the server. DS18B20
1-Wire sensors are used for temperature measurement.
A four-layer PCB was developed. The design, prototyping, and testing of
individual hardware and software functional modules were carried out. Special
attention was paid to communication reliability, system security, and the possibility
of future expansion.
The final system enables temperature monitoring, alerts when predefined
thresholds are exceeded, and remote control of HVAC devices over a network.
The solution reduces the need for physical intervention at remote locations and
increases the reliability of equipment operation.
