This master's thesis examines the effect of educational games on Slovenian language teaching in primary schools. The aim was to empirically test the impact of using educational games in Slovenian language lessons on student motivation, participation, and achievement of learning objectives. The research was based on experimental method involving two seventh-grade primary school classes: an experimental group using educational games and a control group using traditional methods. Data was collected through observation, knowledge tests, and a questionnaire. Analysis of the results showed that students in the experimental group showed greater motivation and participation in class, and also achieved the learning objectives. The use of educational games proved to be an effective strategy for stimulating students' interest and improving learning outcomes, while also contributing to the development of a positive attitude towards the language.
