The master’s thesis presents the development of a device for end-grinding of NV fuse bases. The entire development of the system is described, from the selection of components to programming and its operation. The device is used in the technical ceramics department at company ETI d. o. o., to update and automate the existing manual device. Thesis is divided into two parts, the first describing the selected components, and the second presenting the programming.
The first part of the master’s thesis describes the device and its main components. The main components of device and parts in the electrical enclosure and their operating function are described in more detail. The device is controlled by standard automation components, namely PLC in combination with HMI. In addition to the components, the NV fuse element is presented in more detail, with its housing serving as the workpiece of the presented device. The process of manufacturing an NV fuse base, their function in the installation and its properties are presented.
The second part of the thesis describes the programming process of the device. The parts of the controller programs and their functions are presented. The HMI screens and the hierarchy of the screens are presented. Finally, the functionality of the key indicator of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and its implementation in the device and on the HMI screen are presented. Also presented are the results of measurements on the device.
The result of the master’s thesis, from the design process, component selection, drawing of the electrical plan, and wiring and programming the device, is a working device that operates according to the client’s requirements and measures performance efficiency.
