We investigate the compressive response of vertebral trabecular bone based on stress–strain curves reported in the literature. From the literature review, we defined a standard compression testing procedure. Three reference curves were selected, digitized, and used to determine the apparent elastic modulus, the maximum stress, and the corresponding strain. The response was reconstructed using the Kolesnikov–Meltser model, and the agreement was evaluated using RMSE, NRMSE, and the relative error at fracture. The model matches the data better before the peak, while deviations increase after the peak.
