Iskra is a company that was founded after World War II in Kranj. Since its founding, it has been a leading electrical industry company with a long tradition and continuous development that extends far beyond the Slovenian border. With its development, the Slovenian economy has gained significant momentum and potential in new electrical products and in the development of new technologies in the fields of electronics, computer science, and other related fields. The first part of the thesis describes the development of the electrical industry as an economic sector, which has always been and still is of great importance for the Slovenian economy. Followed by a historical review, which begins after World War II and is divided into three main periods, with a greater emphasis on the period of Slovenian transition and economic restructuring, which had the greatest impact on the company itself and transformed it. This section is followed by a description of Iskra's restructuring and a presentation of the companies that are now independent or operate within the successor of the former Iskra, which is the subject of a broader chapter.
