The article deals with the clause order in Slovenian multiclause sentences: it examines possible clause orders and their constraints for specific relationships. The starting point is a two-clause sentence, and the clause order is examined in relation to the position of the conjunction clause, that is, the clause in which the conjunction is or could be. There are four possible clause orders: the conjunction clause stands before the non-conjunction clause, the conjunction clause is embedded within the non-conjunction clause, the conjunction clause follows the non-conjunction clause, and the non-conjunction clause divides the conjunction clause.
