The article examines the phenomenon of so-called Z-poetry in the context of the special
role of poetry. If the main role of poetry lies in the search for a new language to comprehend
the most complex phenomena, then in relation to war, its true transformative potential is linked
to its ability to reflect the complexity and fundamental incomprehensibility of the phenomenon
itself, rather than repeating poetic clichés and already established models of war poetry. In
this regard, Z-poetry does not appear as a phenomenon of true poetic culture, but rather as
a peculiar mimicry of poetry, using the cultural prestige of poetry for ideological purposes.
