Investment policy represent one of the most important areas of European Union, which
are realizing through the programming periods across the European Structural and
Investment Funds. Cohesion funds in regions and cities of the member states stimulate
equable regional development and decreasing regional distinctions, stimulate
economic growth, development of competitive and innovative environment in member
states and represent support to investments in jobs and growth. For this purpose the
suitable attention should be intend to the European cohesion policy.
European Union regulations manage areas of European cohesion policy, on which
member states provide systems of implementation according to this regulations. One
of the most important areas are management and control systems, which are restored
by member states, they properly appoint authorities of management and control
systems, which are carry out their tasks with the institutional, legal and financial
systems of the Member State concerned. Certifying authority is one of the key
authorities of management and control systems, due to subject and theme research of
my master’s degree is the presentation of certifying authority and the role of Certifying
authority in implementation of European Cohesion Policy in Republic of Slovenia.
Master’s degree is based on theoretical and practical part of research and enable to
understand function of Certifying authority and his investiture in the implementation
system of European cohesion policy.
Given the outstanding importance of cohesion funds, I have established that the
appropriate method of installing the management and control system in the Member
State and the operation of all the bodies, which are included in the system
implementation is crucial for the successful use and absorption of these funds.
