In our master's thesis, we present the contents and comparisons of various art activities and art therapy activities in Slovenian prisons. In the theoretical part, we described the general functioning of the prison system focusing on the contents of art activities and art therapy activities. In the empirical part, we present the results of interviews conducted with representatives of all (7) different prisons in Slovenia and compared them. We were primarily interested in which prisons implement art activities and forms of art therapy, to what extent, who implements them (expert profile), and how the meetings are conducted. Within the three (3) selected institutions, we qualitatively analyzed and compared data by further collecting data through interviews with experts in the field of art therapy. We found that art activities are implemented in Slovenian prisons, but on the other hand art therapy activities are not formally implemented in any of the institutions. Art activities are carried out by qualified educational workers, such as educators, social workers, counselors, occupational therapists, educators with additional art skills, and others, but no one is an art teacher by profession. There are differences between institutions regarding the implementation and offer of art activities and art therapy. Since there was a lack of research in this area in Slovenia, our research provided new starting points for a scientific discussion of the issue.
