In modern manufacturing environments, there is increasing demand for flexible and agile systems that can rapidly respond to changes in production processes. A key solution is modularity, which can be implemented in hardware and logistics systems, as well as in the software that controls production systems. In this master's thesis, we are developing a closed-loop control system for a modularly built production process, allowing easy implementation and integration of new production modules and their independent positioning within the factory layout. For data exchange between the modules, a new data format was developed to ensure unified and standardised data exchange between the digital twin, control system, and production modules. A control system was developed that enables local control of production modules and global control of the entire production process. This thesis presents a platform for testing and developing advanced production process planning and control systems, which are an important part of digitalisation and automation efforts within the Industry 4.0 framework.
