Electrical devices are an essential part of modern life but can pose risks to consumer safety. The European Union uses the RAPEX system to quickly notify about dangerous products on the market. In my thesis, I analysed reports of hazardous electrical devices between 2005 and 2024. The most common risks were electric shock, fire, burns, and chemical hazards, with chemical risks increasing in recent years. Most reports involved household appliances, USB chargers, and personal care devices. The majority of dangerous products originated from China, while most notifications were issued by France, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Slovenia submitted 34 notifications in this period, with only two products of Slovenian origin. Despite some improvements, ensuring electrical safety remains an important task for the EU and its member states.
