The work includes a comprehensive inspection of the fire safety of the residential building in question at 4 Klemenčičeva Street in Novo mesto and a comparative analysis of the fire risk assessment according to the old and current methodology for the building. As part of the analysis of the first hypothesis, a thorough control inspection was carried out, during which a number of critical violations of the applicable fire safety regulations were identified. The second hypothesis was based on a comparison of the fire risk calculations, which showed that the fire risk under the new method was drastically higher than under the old method. Both hypotheses were confirmed and pointed to shortcomings in compliance with fire safety regulations in multi-unit buildings. At the same time, the advantages of the current method of calculating the fire risk classification were emphasised, allowing better identification of fire risks.
