The thesis analysed the user experience in the field of intercity public transport in Slovenia and based on this, developed a prototype of a mobile application and a smartwatch application that enable easy trip planning with bus and train services. The aim of the research was to improve the user experience of existing solutions and to develop a comprehensive, functional, and visually user-friendly solution for end users.
The main objectives of the research included the analysis of existing applications, identification of user needs, creation of a prototype, and its evaluation.
A user-centred design approach was used, involving competitor analysis, user interviews, persona development, information architecture design, wireframing, and the creation of an interactive prototype in Figma. The final evaluation was conducted with ten users who performed predefined usage scenarios, followed by data analysis using standardized questionnaires (SUS, UEQ, VisAWI, NPS) and qualitative feedback.
The usability testing results showed that users perceived the application as intuitive, clear, and useful. The expressed willingness of participants to use the application and recommend it to others indicates the adequacy of the designed solution in terms of user experience.
The result of the thesis is a developed application prototype that integrates bus and train transport data, designed for use on both mobile phones and smartwatches.
