This master's thesis explores the topic of amateur film in Slovenia during the 1970s and 1980s, using the activities of Kino klub Duplje as a case study. It presents the history of amateur filmmaking in Slovenia, efforts toward youth film education, challenges related to film technology, and the importance of festivals for amateur creators. Through analysis of archival sources, periodicals, and the preserved materials of the Duplje Film Club, the study highlights a largely overlooked leisure activity of the socialist era, which provides valuable insights for scholars of local and cultural history.
