The diploma thesis attempts to shed light on questions about fantasy, first through the field of psychoanalysis, clinical cases and the most influential psychoanalysts. In doing so, I rely primarily on Sigmund Freud and his well-known clinical practices and elaborated concepts – the unconscious and daydreaming, phylogenesis, seduction theory, the Oedipus complex and castration … , Jacques Lacan and his famous reversal of fantasy or desire as the desire of the Other, and the child psychoanalyst Melanie Klein, who made a huge shift in the field of discovering the unconscious with her play technique, in which children reveal their fantasies with the help of toys and games. I will explore the forms of fantasy scenarios and their deviations, such as sadomasochism, perversion and fetishism. The second part of the diploma focuses on the more than obvious inequality of the sexes and, through critical theory and feminist ideologies, seeks to find out how the concept of fantasy appears and is shown in literature, art and film. Here, the products of mass industry, such as pornography, erotic novels, provocative art, and various filmic insinuations, will be particularly important.
