After finishing my studies, I intend to manage the family farm. I would like to apply for the IRP24 intervention – Support to help young farmers. When I apply for the intervention, I must also submit an economic plan. The plan must contain the current situation of the farm, the development goals, and a plan on how I will reach those goals. In order to have a clear vision about the development of the farm, I will analyze the agricultural market. With the analysis, I will acquire important information that will help me with future investments. The gathered information will also help me understand the market. I see my future in the combination of tourism and fruit production. Tourism is interesting because our farm is near Ljubljana, and in my opinion, that is a great market to sell to. As for the fruit production, it was something that I was interested in since the beginning of my studies. In my master's thesis, I will dive into production technology and economics of highbush blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) that grow in containers and get their nutrients by using drip irrigation (fertigation), and also the production technology of walnut (Juglans regia L.). In the thesis, I will also describe pastured-raised hens with the intention of selling their eggs.
